To redo the ournem.com homepage to make it better than any other crypto coin homepage, I started an open source repository so that we can work together to build our homepage:
https://github.com/NewEconomyMovement/ournem-homepage
Let me know if you want me to add you to the NEM ecosystem github team.
We want to use the Gumby Framework and D3.js to build a homepage similar to http://www.borderfree.com
Regarding design: I think we should create some content first describing our movement and technology. Then I am hoping that Loi can help out with building a nice design around the content
Great
I'll try to set up a basic Gumby project, unless you want to do it. How familiar are you with Gumby?
Do not have much knowledge about programming but I can give feedback about it.
Instead of the page with big letters and many heavy Scrypt and such, I prefer a simpler and objectivity, which load instantly. And with pictures and information small size, readable. needing little scrolling to reach the bottom of the page.
The current ournem.com would be better compress the length.
I think it is important to explain what NEM is and have all the basic information presented succinctly on the main page. Graphics/visuals can help accomplish this.
Great :D

Still learning for sure. I am going to work on a project just to get more of a hang of it. I'll have it up in the next day or two. (as long as it doesn't kick my ass).
Maybe take a look at that, and decide if we should start from there?
However I realize this is pretty important, so if you want it up now, I would take no offense to you doing it.
I won't have time to work on this for the next couple of days, so do what you can.
@crackerhead: I just took a look at your repo and it looks okay. Gonna try to play around with it some.
Another good model website is http://www.cloakcoin.com/
great!
I cannot seem to see anything at the github. Can anyone show me how?
THanks.
Homepage redesign is a must for NEM. Please post some screenshots as you make progress, maybe we will be able to offer some useful feedback.
crackerhead: I have been looking at your homepage source. It is looking pretty good.
For the hover/clicking stuff, it would be cool to have the fan logo with the three parts (instead of 3 boxes) that you could hover/click and would pop up with more info describing 3 things.

Great idea for the fan, actually seems like a no-brainer now that you mention it. I will work on that after I finish my current implementations. BTW Those 3 boxes are just there to show the fade-in effects more clearly, not even close to being final.
I'm trying to get Loi to release some illustrator files with his final logo. I'll send you a link once he does it.

Please send to Zoata and I too so we can put on FB. :-)
And maybe I can get KkotNEM to take another pic too. hahaha
Loi's files are here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B9jSTPeGZxgtRjZ3MVVUaHR3Yzg&usp=sharing
I created an illustrator file on this card: https://trello.com/c/pTd2UWAN/124-social-media-command-center
I've been playing around with the testrepo source. It is looking pretty good and I think we are almost to the point where we can launch the first revision of our homepage.
I took the test repo source and am hacking out the coin crowd sale page out of that. It's almost done

@crackerhead: Any idea why skiplinks aren't working in the navbar on altnemo.com? They work if in the page, just not in the navbar.
@crackerhead: I got it working with skiplink. Guess the docs are wrong
If you checkout [url=http://altnemo.com]http://altnemo.com, it works now.
@crackerhead: yeah, it looks a lot better with transparent links
The only real problem with the site now is that on mobile, the parallax pict is too big. Any idea how to make that more responsive?
