I thought I should share this in case anyone else has the same problem.
I don’t ever remember seeing the Symbol mnemonic when originally opting in and consequently, without this, I was unable to retrieve my airdropped XYM after the snapshot.
I tried everything and tech support were brilliant but without the mnemonic my XYM was lost.
In a last ditch effort I figured the only chance I had to “roll-back” the app before the update after the snapshot was to completely erase my iPhone and restore from an older backup.
The only backup I had available to restore from was dated 16/03/21 so I wasn’t hopeful. After loading all my apps back on I opened the Symbol app and my optin account was there!! Couldn’t bloody believe it. I’ve now backed everything up, hopefully this will help someone else if they experience the same problem. Note this was iOS
