What if all the Supernodes, sold their XEM, can NEM still continue to exist without the Supernodes? Just wondering what would happen if this was the case.
…also is there a bigger reward payout for nodes that have higher amounts of XEM or higher importance? Sorry for my ignorance if these have already been addressed.
if all sold their xem then the price would drop considerably. There still would be nodes in the network but it would be weaker for sure.
The reward does not depend on the amount of xem, it needs to pass all tests (which implies that the balance is >= 3M).
Thanks BloodyRookie, I guess the share of the reward would be bigger for remaining nodes, but if the value of XEM goes down then the bigger reward sort of cancels itself out.
