Taking NEM to the next stage

This thread is to engage the community in coming our with great ideas to take NEM to the next stage and gain world recognition AND usage - to perpetuate its presence and to make it easy for everyone to accept.

Building en ecosystem is relatively easy. Making it sustainable and accepted is the next challenge!

Have your say or if you wish us to do something that is great give us your view here:

I think creating a product that can be used safely by average people not familiar with technology is going to be one of the keys. The average older person is not going to want to have to back up their keys or do things like boot nodes manually when starting their wallet. Usability has to be so simple that even people in a remote community who have never used technology before will not be able to make mistakes with it.

It was me who started a discussion at btt how to attract NEM to girls - don't know if the pic (ournem.com) is a result.
I am 61, retired, I am the "average older person" with limited computer skills and I am a NEM stakeholder.
Really hope that NEM will  have a simple usability for people like me.

You'll be surprised that more that 45% of people who go to ournem.com are females. ;-)

You are a senior citizen. Please enlighten us how anyone of your age would want to be part of NEM. We can learn a lesson or two from you.

Our target is not only the young, but include the older ones in our society. Ironicaly, they will be the ones who have a louder voice in pushing an initiative like NEM!

That is only one part. The other part is to make it easy to get hold of NEM or its AEs and to use them. It has to be an easily loadable app on the phone.

For example, I do not like how NXT wallet needs to be "initialized" with sending coins in and all that hassle.

It should be plug and play without hassle.

It won't be easy but NEM is positioned to challenge NXT and contest for the second position in the coinmarketcap. The team has to do the correct things in a correct order though. Understand the product you offer, understand the industry you are in, understand the community support base etc.

Great post!

I agree with most of it but these are were my views are different:

Ecosystem: Besides the NEM apps the focus should be on online stores,  it will be easier to intergrate a payment system with them. Once NEM has a online presence then it can move into the brick and mortar stores. As far as company paying employees with NEM, forget it. Crypto has a very long way to go for that to happen plus NEM would need to be redesigned to be used as a true currency,  in order for NEM to succeed it needs to see it's self as a payment option.

Marketing: Im not sold on spending alot of resources on the crypto crowd, they will find out and know about NEM easier and faster then average joe, by focusing on the ecosystem i outlined above will be a big help in bringing NEM to the masses.

These are just my views and who knows, I could be total wrong.

Xtester has created a great starting point on what i hopefully becomes a active topic by the community.

We can do even better than just helping online stores to add a NEM payment option... but I am not ready to go public with my idea.

Wouldn't it be great if we fire up the NEM wallet and click a button to buy some coins, all in one place?

Then next things is go shopping within the wallet. Get news syndicated, do social network, twit, etc, all in the same wallet.

It's like a "web browser" with a NEM ecosystem ready to go!

Emunie is trying this and it isn't working out to well, the code is getting huge, sync problems and fixing bugs is a nightmare.  Mind you it is being coded by one person.

The key is to keep it all simple. Buying books should be the same experience as buying music or NEM2.0stake.

In regards to going shopping with in the client, you guys should check out the dgs in nxt, might get some ideas from it or find flaws that could be fixed when implementing something similar into nem

The first thing that comes to mind is whether our Architecture will permit so.

I have come out with a form based solution. See if this is good for us to capture protential projects and work on them.
