The NEM software is starting up and NIS is running and is synchronised, NCC is not running.
The wallet will not open in my browser. What can be the problem?
http://127.0.0.1:8989/ncc/web/dashboard.html?wallet=XXX&account=XXX
I get this message there is no connection with the server trying to open the wallet in the browser.
Now the software do not want to start up also. Are all my NEM gone, I loose everything? Why does it not work? Is it possible that the XEM been stolen in any way?
Hi,
Could you give more details about the OS youâre using? The NIS version? The command that you use to start?
Does the console show some error at starting processes?
If you have the public and the private keys, you havenât lost anything. You can check you account status here, put your address at search bar and check your account.
If someone stolen your public and private keys, thatâs another case. Just keep them in a safe place
Yes my coins are still there, that is a relieve. Were can I check the version? I try to upload a ScreenShot but I am not able to do because I am a new user.
I use Windows 7. The program opens with this line:
C:\Program Files\NEMSoftware\package\runMon.bat
I do not see anything during opening, can I download a new wallet (program)? Can I find my wallet somewhere on my PC?
Do you have you walletâs private key ?
I would recommend a switch to NanoWallet as it is easier to handle (get your private key, then go to https://nem.io/install.html and download the nanowallet - then create a Private Key wallet with your key and you will be in your account.)
In case you are willing to do local harvesting, ping me, it is possible with your current installation to only run NIS and have your NanoWallet use your local instance - but i think you wont need that as with nem you can delegate harvesting to remote nodes.
Were can I find this private key? Is it the password of my wallet?
There must be a way to update the software, or not? Why the program stops immediately? Were can I find the private key? Can somebody help?
Your wallet private key is most likely located at C:\Program Files\NEMSoftware\nem\ncc\
Your wallet file will be <wallet_name>.wlt
I donât have Windows so Iâm not positive thatâs the correct location, but I thought Iâd take a guess at it.
This happened to me to! I am on a PC⌠does that matter?
you can use windows there is no problem with that, but maybe you downloaded the wrong client. I strongly recommend the NanoWallet for new users
if you have used NCC before, and have your money there, it would be good to take over to NanoWallet unless you are local harvesting (which i doubt) - You must find a .wlt file if you have any money to export from NCC to Nanowallet.
If you donât have any wallet to recover, go and download the NanoWallet rather than the NCC standalone wallet.
@Watergift I believe the .wlt file would be located under the C:\Users\YourUsername\nem\ncc directory ⌠not sure but might be
I have a PC too. I asked to solve this problem. When I hear the sollution I will tell you how to do.
you should read my answer
I can not find the wlt file, what is the name of it?
the wlt file is whatever you named your account. It will end with the file extension â.wltâ
Yes I understand but it is gone, nowhere a wlt file
I only now my password and my XEM address. I do not know my private key. I lost probaly 19000 XEM
On Windows it should be saved to C:\Users\Watergift\nem\ncc\waterwallet.wlt
You can also try searching for the name of your wallet using the Windows Search.
Unless you specifically remember deleting the wlt file, then you still have it.
As mentioned by @gevs , if youâre not harvesting, then donât bother using NIS/NCC. Download nanoWallet, Extract it, and then click on the start.html file. You will then need to import the wallet file you created while using NCC into nanoWallet. The startpage of nanoWallet will guide you through that.
It will be great once NEM has streamlined thier web wallet, desktop wallet, and smartphone wallet, so everyone can enjoy using NEM the way it was meant to be. For now, I think the smartphone app is the easiest way to create and use a NEM wallet.
Yes finally I found it with the search option, thank you! Now want to try to open it with Nanowallet, put in the password try to import the wallet but I can not sign in. I will try tomorrow again. Thanks for the support, there is still hope.
All the best, Peter
How I can use this NCC wallet into the Nanowallet? Can it be opened with the Nanowallet? My Standalone NIS/NCC software does not work anymore. Can I change the NCC into a Nanowallet?
if you have the file with extension .wlt, then yes, you can import it to NanoWallet and it will tell the file needs an upgrade. When the import is done you will have a new .wlt file for nanowallet.
if you have the private key of the wallet also, in nanowallet you can create âPrivate key walletâ.
Everything is solved, that is great. Thanks for all the help!
