Verification of NEM files (using Apostille or not)

I already wrote about this issue
https://forum.nem.io/t/nem-beta-0-6-87/3818/34
but the situation does not change, so I’m writing about it again.

In NEM appeared and there is a wonderful opportunity to easily and simply verify any file. This can be done thanks to Apostille. The features of Apostille are much wider, but in this case I focus on the verification of files.

1] How it happened before
a) Someone had to explain to me how to verify the file based on the pgp certificate. Thx to Gimre, he done it for me
https://forum.nem.io/t/open-alpha-starts-now/608/80
b) As variant, I had to install a special program called Gpg4win, which contains the Kleopatra component required later on.
http://free.userboard.net/t95-topic
c) Then pgp certificate certifying the file I had to guess somewhere to find.
d) Next, I need to import this pgp certificate into the Kleopatra program, having committed many clicks in a certain tricky sequence.
But it was just a preparation for verification.
Then the actual verification began.
e) It was necessary to download not only the file itself, but also the accompanying file.
f) I run Kleopatra and after a lot of clicks I get the result of the check.
g) Уфф (a sigh of relief in russian) :frowning:

Now admit honestly, how many of the nemsters had the patience to go through this debilitating path from start to finish, and then every downloaded file been checked in this way? 1 out of 100 at best or 1 in 1000 at real.

2] How can this happen through the use of Apostille.
a) I’m running Nanowallet
b) I drag’n’drop the downloaded file into the Apostille window and get the result of the check. The NEM address of the witness is known and constant.
c) I enjoy!

Simply and easily. This check can be done by any person from the street. This is the global meaning of Apostille - to make cryptography a commonplace phenomenon to check the file was also easy and natural to do an inhale-exhale.

Thanks to Owon and Quantum_Mechanics, they showed in practice this way on their example . But in the latter case (file Nanowallet 1.4.3) this practice has stopped. Sadly.

3] How it is happening now in reality.

Option 1.
a) I have to download not only the file itself, but also the accompanying file with additional information about TxID. Just like in the old days.
b) I need to know the date of the transaction.
c) Then I need to manually modify the file name so that it matches the Apostille standard
http://free.userboard.net/t106-topic#606
d) I drag’n’drop the file with the modified name into the Apostille window and get the result of the check.

Option 2.
a) I have to download not only the file itself, but also the accompanying file with additional information about TxID.
b) By TxID through Blockchain Explorer I read the message in this transaction.
c) I select a sha-256 hash from the message
d) I run a third-party service, in which I get a hash of the file and compare it with the requested one. In case of coincidence, success.

Both methods of verification are inconvenient and make little difference from the old method of verification of pre-Apostille times.

So, the question. Why is the most elegant and reasonable version of the file verification using Apostille not used in the NEM itself? If the nemsters themselves do not use the capabilities of Apostille, will it be use by people outside the NEM community? How do people outside the NEM community learn about the existence of Apostille, if the nemsters themselves do not use Apostille?

My understanding is that the Apostille naming format interfered with releasing the Nanowallet on Github.

add info:
I personally tried to download the apostilled file with GitHub, so I have tested it.
Then, the space etc. of the file name is forcibly changed to a different character string.
For this reason, I came to the conclusion that apostyleed files can not be registered for downloading from GitHub.

Please note that the distribution method as before has been used as a download method because the download population of NanoWallet has increased and it exceeded the limit of DropBox.

Shouldnt be the apostile format changed for something more compatible?
