As many of you may have realised, we need to have some proper communication to the rest of the world about who we are and what we are offering.
To that end we need to produce a video clip that best describes what NEM is about, targeted at the lay person.
If anyone of you out there is an expert storyboardist, we would like to hear from you. We would very much like to work with someone from within the community as we believe this will have a better impact than with someone from outside our initiative.
Please PM me if you have any interest.
I think this is very important.
We will definitely need to have uniform presentation throughout the internet, and a promotion video is an important part of it.
We can make the video quite cheap through fiverr (see for example http://goo.gl/9seohZ)
What do you guys think about using fiverr?
fiverr can be a great place to get things done for super cheap, but of course the quality varies.
Then again, if the price is as cheap as it usually is on fiverr, if you end up getting a poor product delivered you can always just scrap it and try elsewhere. Usually the decent people on there have enough examples of their work and positive feedback to determine whether they are legit or not, though.
With that said, if we have the funds though, going a more professional route is always the better option really. You do, after all, get what you pay for (usually).

Yes, it has to be impressive and targeted at the lay person. In other words, no mention of PoI, Block Chain, altcoin. They don't need to know.
Words mentioned should be electronic tokens, proven crypto technology, special client software to manage funds, accounts, P2P technology to store encrypted data, encrypted ledger solution, IoS, Android mobile device apps, no need credit card frauds as payments shall be made directly with merchants. Transfers to home countries with minimal costs, etc.

I think we really need to focus on the "sending money to home countries with minimal costs" aspect. This is such an untapped market in crypto. Here in Japan there are always people outside of the immigration office handing out fliers about Western Union to try and get people to use their services for sending money back to their home country. I'd assume this is similar in any country, especially since Japan has an extremely low number of foreigners compared to other places.
This is truly one of the ultimate applications of cryptocurrency, and one where NEM could quickly fill a niche as long as it is easy enough to purchase with fiat and use. Many of the immigrant workers here in Japan who are most likely to send money back home are factory workers who may not have as much knowledge about cutting edge technology like cryptocurrency as others, but if it is made easy enough (and available for use via smartphones), NEM could easily capture this market and dominate.

amy - I couldn't agree more. This is one area that I think is ripe for the picking. If we could make NEM *the* solution for cross-border money transfers, even if it did nothing else, it would become an immense success.

It that happens, this will not stop there. Critical mass would have been achieved!

Here is an interesting thought on the subject:
"As much as bitcoiners like to bash Western Union and Money Gram, and as despicable as some of these remittance platforms can be, they still exist for a reason. Doing safe, secure and legal remittance is more expensive than it seems at first glance. And while it
