If you search for NEM on Google you probably find Vietnamese food and Newmont Mining Corporation stakes quotation but nothing about our movement.
The easiest way to appear on the first page of search results probably is creating Wikipedia pages for NEM in every language.
I immagine a page summarizing http://forum.nemcoin.com/index.php?topic=2348.msg4085#msg4085 and http://forum.nemcoin.com/index.php?topic=3.msg3#msg3
We should also make additions in other pages such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptocurrency
I'm not so fluent in english… probably many people here can do a better job than me but I can take care of italian page.

Good points. Though I think instead of the second forum link we could use info from here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=640772.0
Keep in mind that Wikipedia will swiftly delete our page if we do not have enough legitimate sources to back up the information. "Legitimate" meaning trusted articles written by third parties and such. Perhaps some of our PR news links will work, but those are press releases written by the NEM community so I'm not sure how long it will hold up. Perhaps after the beta launch and official coin distribution we will get picked up by some more media outlets which can help give us more legitimacy for keeping up a Wikipedia article.
Keep in mind I'm only going by what I have heard from others who have attempted to create Wikipedia articles on various topics. I've never actually tried to make one myself so this may not actually be the case. I have just heard of many stories of Wikipedia deleting pages for not having enough valid sources to maintain the entry.

I remember someone telling NEM already have a media coverage of over 50 articles.
Probably the list would be useful for that.
Almost 10 years ago I started 4 different Wikipedia pages. Two of them went on to be successful and nice articles. One got deleted and one is still a stub just waiting to be deleted.
Back then they gave us more time to make an article good then they do now. I think there is enough information out right now about NEM even if it is a bit thin. In a way, I think it would be better to write the article after the launch or at least when the beta is started. I would be more than happy to work on the article with others. I am terribly busy for the next week or two, but after that I could set aside half a day to make a good start on an English wiki page. I also think the more languages the better. Once we have one good page, we could make a call out for others to make pages in other languages.
It is important to keep the page just to the facts and not like a marketing page.
I added a card to the Trello page under "To Do" for Wikipedia.
Hi Jabo, we are now moving all discussion from trello here. I think it would be great if you could help with NEM wiki, especially if you already have experience with that.
You may like to know that we have our own wiki at wiki.nemcoin.com. It is outdated and needs a good update and overhaul.
Please feel free to polish it up and clean it so that we can put it up at the mainstream wiki.
that will be a great place to start
speaking of wiki.nemcoin.com: i created an account but still didn't get any notification that my account is open. who should i talk to?
Who runs wiki.nemcoin.com?
rock3tm4n You need to get him or Pheromone to give you admin rights. I am not sure if I am an admin. Need to put Amy there as well.
Still nothing…?
We need more people for the wiki…
