Windows reinstall necessary, wallet file gone, but raw-data of wallet available, how to recover? [SOLVED]

Hello,

my win10 system crashed, and i lost at new installation of win10 my *.wlt file, which was locally stored on C: drive.
i got the raw data, which i should secure. ( the numbers and figuers code…) - sent to myself by email.

.But how now to recover my wallet ? or import ? if i copy code in a text file, and rename to *.wlt ( same name it had before ) the NEM Software does not import it. i am quite new to this topic.
any help or any idea, how to recover ? i also would have all transaction history of buying some NEMs.

From which wallet raw data do you have? This is nanowallet?
I just create empty wallet and raw data should look like this:

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

In your case it looks also in this way (of course don’t paste here)?

Hello,

yes - NanoWallet.

my raw-data i have looks similar kind - just not so long.

this was the data in orig. *.wlt file, which is gone now unfortunatelly.

It should work if you:

  • save this contact with text wile and change extension to .wlt
  • import into nanowallet using “Import” button

exactly this i tried, but nothiing happens. not even a error message or note.
as long as it was *.txt, it tells, that this is no wallet.
but now nothing happens. the *.wlt file is in the folder, where the NanoWallet programm exe is placed.
my string-code is shorter, it has 64 signs.

and sure i also know and have my login data, my username / email and password

Ok. 64 you say? It’s probably plain text private key.
Sign up -> Private key wallet -> Put this private key, choose wallet name and password
Login into wallet

No problem.
Last tip is keep your private key offline (on paper for example). Email is not best place in case if your email box was hacked you can lose your funds.
Have a nice day
