XEM gone after ios app crash [SOLVED]

Hi

I use the NEM wallet on ios 11. The app used to work just fine. I haven’t logged for about 5 months. Now every time i tried, the app would just close on its own. I did reset the phone through itunes, so that’s probably why. So I reinstalled the app and now its asks me for a private key. When i made the wallet, I was given a 12 word passphrase. Every time i enter this key it gives me an error (PRIVATE_KEY_ERROR_1).
I then installed the mac client to import the key. After copying and pasting the key into the field numerous times, it finally recognized it (or at least i think it id). I created a password and was able to log in. Somewhere in the app i found the private key (hex 64 chrs). Using this hex key on my phone i was able to add my account.

But now its says I have 0 XEM (I used to have 2087,xxx XEM). I guess my XEM are stolen or I just created a new account?? The circle on the mac client is green btw.

No, sorry. I only have the 12 words and the new private key. If I do find it, I’ll let you know.

Edit: I just remembered I used changelly to transfer my XEMs. This is my old address: NB6LIQUUG2PVXIVRBEBX4ZTA3ZQLUMUZ5HLDP55M. Can I find the public address on changelly?

Edit 2: I entered the private address in explorer and it says public address unknown. My XEM’s are still there apparently. So at least no one took it :grinning:

You need only find your private key backup :slight_smile:
Maybe you create brain wallet? If yes you can download nanowallet and create brain wallet with same 12 words.if it was previously brain wallet it allow you access to this account.

I created a new brain wallet using the same 12 words. Now I just have an empty wallet with a different private address.

Is there a way to do it using the app on ios? Because that’s where I created the wallet in the first place.

Also I contacted Changelly to see if they can retrieve my public key but I’m still waiting for an answer.

Changelly can’t retrieve your private key (I think this you had in mind). Only wallet owner (you) have access to it.
IOS app doesn’t use brain wallets. If you don’t have backup looks like token are lost :frowning:

No I meant public address because you asked for it. I always thought the 12 word passphrase was my private key since the app told me to back it up when I made the wallet. So I guess all hope is lost? :sweat_smile:

You already give us public address NB6LIQUUG2PVXIVRBEBX4ZTA3ZQLUMUZ5HLDP55M. Public key is no needed.
I don’t know nothing about using passphrase in mobile wallet unfortunately.

I have finally recovered my private key :grin: . I reset my device using icloud instead of itunes. appartently icloud does save keys and passwords by default unlike itunes.
