Hex identifier for wlt file

I’m trying to recover a wlt file from my previous install of Ubuntu. I can only recover custom files like the NEM wlt file if I know a bit about their signature that is common to all wlt files. I generated a new one and searched for the first line of hex, and did a subsequent search with only the first value of the first line.

I highly doubt that all wallet files first entry is 0x76 to begin with, but my results found no files as small as ~50 bytes in size.

At any rate, I really hope someone here can tell me a unique signature I can use to sift through my Photorec attempts to recover my lost WLT file.

Cheers!

When you spin up a new server and start running it, it creates a nem folder. Your wallet should be in the NCC folder under that.

that’s not really what i was asking.

Sorry to revive a dead thread: I have a similar issue. I tried to open a wlt file in a hex editor, but I couldn’t find any signatures that would clearly allow me to use photorec to retrieve a wallet file, I suppose because they are encrypted.

This is wlt file from old NCC client?

Yeah, from the old ncc client

Yes. File is encrypted. I’m sorry - don’t know how help in this case.
