Migration Committee Community Update #13

This is a joint message for our community on behalf of the Symbol Migration Group, composed of The NEM Foundation, NEM Studios, NEM Ventures, and Tech Bureau Holdings.

Translations:

Tokenomics

As of recently, NIS1 discussions have taken a seat at the forefront of the Migration Committee agenda. We have illustrated in the past (in response to community sentiment), that we would move forward with Symbol development without forgetting about the NEM network that started it all. Current conversations and planning revolve around 4 main topics:

  1. Supernode programme future on NIS1

  2. Wider node assurance plan out in place

  3. Tokenomics review

  4. Community and developer support

Engineering

Server

A patch release was performed on the server for version 0.9.3.2. This small patch covers an upgrade to the rocksDb version with a bump to v6.6.4. Release images have been posted and related image references updated in the testnet bootstrap tool.

The team is working towards completion of the next major update, currently targeted to be the 0.9.4.1 release. This update will bring a large change to peer/server communications which will be switching to leverage the TLS 1.3 standard.

Opt-In

Progress continues to be made on the tooling for powering the opt-in process. The latest work effort has been around updating to support the changes introduced in the 0.9.3.x version of the server, specifically the update to no longer support backwards compatibility for NIS1 keys. The 0.9.3.x updates will be completed soon with work effort then turning towards finalizing the UI/UX flows and functionality for both the nano wallet plugin as well as a targeted mobile opt-in application. Once ready the team will be aiming to release a NIS1 testnet version for final pre-release testing and collecting feedback from the public.

Wallets

The mobile wallet is nearing completion and readiness for external testing. For those that have signed up to participate thanks for doing so and being patient. The team is targeting beta feature complete this week. From that point final steps will be applying branding updates, similar to the recent branding updates applied to the desktop wallet, then setup and sharing for external testers.

Our latest desktop wallet (v0.9.6) saw to a few fixes and additions as well. For more information please go here.

Testing

General testing of the various components continues. One new effort that will begin this week is a public testing campaign on the platform HackerOne. For those interested in participating please sign up there (https://hackerone.com). The campaign will go live this week.

Thanks for your continued support,

Migration Committee

I dont really understand but maybe I misread.

What are the news of the last 30 days ?

Any partnerships ? Any new on symbol release date ? Any Exchanges listing ? Any something ?

PS: I remind you that you spend around 70 MILLIONS XEM already in 2020 (We are only in march)

70M XEM who directly went to exchange to be instant sold (I checked tx) so it has put a big sell pressure on the market.

Thanks

You can’t really expect things to carry on as normal, given the Coronavirus’ impact on the world?

I am sure things will pick up/resume in due course, but I for one would rather everyone keeps home and safe, even if it does mean a delay in NEM/SYMBOL progress.

Lol so they have a new excuse now

The problem is that I can say the same post by changing the date with 01/01/2020: Let’s try

You see ? It works.

Ofc if they were very active EXCEPT this month, I would understand but it is not the case.

Recently, NF tweeted everyday about all the awesome employees they have, marketing, community, business building parternship etc… etc…

I wanted to know what they are all doing.

Does this wallet support multilingualism?
We can help you with the translation if you provide us with the language files.
Also, can you provide a list of features that will be included in the mobile wallet?

There doesn’t seem to be anyone there.

hahaha

Go to holydays

Hi @GodTanu. Yes. The mobile wallet will support multi-language. I think the team will ask the community for translation when there will be a final version of the file to translate.
Regarding features will ask someone to comment, but are you interested in a specific one?

Yes, the language file will be shared with the community soon, before we release.

The mobile wallet comes with HD wallet compatibility, transfer of mosaic(s), aggregate bonded cosignature, transaction QR (Invoices), multi-wallet capacity, multi-network compatibility and is compatible with Android and iOS.

It is still undergoing private testing practices and will be shared with community as soon as possible.
