If you do not back up your private key, you may have lost funds.
Can I back up my private key now?
If there is a backup of the private key at the time of creating the wallet, please restore it by the following method.
Delete the application and reinstall it.
Then, create private key wallet using the previously backed up secret key.
Thank you.
aaaaand another one.
This app needs to be removed from the appstore and now.
This is issue with Android app so google play store.
Btw, I’m using this app without problems.
All issues should be fixed but people should also do backup of they private keys.
Without backup the result will be the same if app crashes or device will be destroyed.
I was never issued with a private key upon installing this app. I now know you need to back up this app to receive the private key!!!
so there is no way to get my tokens back ? even with the hash transactions from the exchange ?
As long as there is no backup of the private key, the funds will not be returned.
Unfortunately.
Hi,
I’ve a similar issue. I deleted the previous Android app and now re-installed it. I remember backing up my private keys but now it won’t accept my QR code when I tried to add an account. Why is that?
Also, I have the original NEM address but the app won’t accept that as my private key. Where do I find the private keys?
Thank you,
MX
If you delete your account it should be possibility to restore it from QR code. Did you pass correct password for QR code?
Was forced to delete my app and now have re-installed. I have a QR code but when I try to import, the app keeps giving me an error message stating that this is not an account QR. I also don’t have the private/public keys, what should I do? This is a LOT of NEM. Thank you!
Your QR code looks like this? Of course don’t show it. You can verify if you can import this one. Password testtest. Please also give me information if you create this QR from Android app or with something else?
Hi,
Your QR code works but mine still doesn’t. They don’t look similar. I did create the QR code from my android app. I just deleted the NEM a few weeks ago. I have the address for the NEM wallet. These are the two items I have.
If I cannot import my previous account base on these two pieces of info, what else could I do? Since it was so recent, should I restore my phone to its previous settings?
Thanks so much!
MX
I don’t think that restoring help because probably wallets are not stored in google backup (of course you can try).
Did you export this QR code using option More -> Export account ?
I don’t remember. Could I send it to you for confirmation?
You can PM me it if you want but you should know that this should not be done because it probably contains your private key.But if you have no idea you can send (but in private message).
Unfortunately. This QR code doesn’t contain private key. You probably use another option to create it…
It can be read using simple qr scanner from android store…
This is what it contains:
{“v”:2,“type”:1,“data”:{“addr”:“NDJWM2ETFFGTCAX2RN5JSF3YTMRD62OGFRXCOIHX”,“name”:“mxu111”}}
Thanks for checking! I don’t mind paying someone to give me the public/private keys, or just successfully importing the account back into the app so I have access to the funds. Do you know what else I could do?
Only check google drive for backup or try recover data from device with some third party apps
Is there an actual service or agency that I could pay to help with this? This is a significant amount of NEM and it’s sad that your organization touts it as the future but most of us can’t even access the funds.
I don’t think there is option to restore it. You can have access to yout funds only if you have private key. But your key is lost.
Only chance is to restore from google drive backup or go to agency/company that restores data from phones (if you want use this option you should do it before restore from google drive backup but I can tell you about chances to restore it).
Do you recommend any particular companies? I’ll research them. Thanks again for your insight and patience. It’s unfortunate but I really thought that the address and QR code were the correct ones.
