I start it after it says NIS is booted, how long should I wait? I have let it ran for ten minutes. I have started it the same way as I always done and never had this problem before.

If its the first time you've run the client 0,4.39, turn it down and restart all over again.
I started the client and Nis wasnt working. I just turned it down and restarted, without deleting anything, and worked, like less than 1 minute it was running.
The ancient transactions screen got really fast now. I dont get the error 500 anymore, for now.

It takes about 7.5 mins for NIS to be ready. Quad-Core AMD A6-3400M with 4 gig ram.

@BloodyRookie, indeed, it seems from the logs, that NCC was started after NIS was ready already, but I'm not sure how to reproduce it.
I has some problems getting this version of NEM going, mainly that after everything started that NIS wouldn't connect and sync.
I tried the NEM NOM icon. I tried the webstart. Then I tried killing all the NEMs in Java. There were more than 10 NEMs in Java from lots of previous versions.
I then deleted the whole NEM folder, cleared Java again and then started from the webstart and it started perfectly fine. I had to download a new blockchain though. That took just a few minutes shy of 3 hours.
I don't know if it is necessary to look at anything but I have saved the whole NEM folder that was deleted if anybody wants to check it out, I can upload it.
@rigel: NIS logs would be very helpful as a first step.
Edit: Node rigel1 (178.62.224.149) seems to be synchronized.
I'm referring to the server at 81.2.216.179 which is still not synchronized.
I'm not expecting performance issue on this node: it has 2 GB RAM and 4 x 2GHz virtual CPU.

I didn't mean to say you are an idiot.
The problem was that booting didn't work because one of the hosts in the peers-config.json could not be resolved.
That is something we have to change since that shouldn't make booting fail.

Which file should I upload? the nis4.h2.db is 1.35 gb ??? and the nis logs are 364 mb :o
Ususally the nis/logs/*.log files are needed.
You can compress them (zip, rar, …) a lot, so you don't have to upload >300 MB.
It has stopped harvesting too. Have restarted numerous times now. Showing "Deactivating remote harvesting" from yesterday night even after I restart my laptop several times.
My last block harvested was 71655 and now it's 73590. Guess my chances for the POI competition are severely hindered now. I am at .12% importance score.

The same with me. It is known bug. Are we going to the stage, where nobody will harvest regarding existing bug?
