We are indeed discussing if we should lower the required quantity of xem for supernodes since the price for xem has surged. No final decision yet though.
My node seems to have a bandwith issue:
http://supernodes.nem.io/details/111
Actually I expected it to be no issue since I have done numerous speedtests which showed I had + 5Mbit.
http://speedof.me/show.php?img=160418183957-2050.png
As you can see in this picture, upload is shown in yellow.
FYI: The reductions in download speed is because the application I used ( speedof.me ) downloads consecutive files which increase in size. I used this because my node does not have flash installed so ookla is no option.
Any suggestions to improve the bandwith of my node would be appreciated. If I canāt optimize the bandwith I guess Iāll have to seize the experiment and go get myself a VPSā¦
The bandwidth test is an aproximation of the bandwidth. if the servant that is testing your node is not near your location you could lose a bit bandwidth i guess and thus fail. Not sure if anything can be done.
Iāll give it a couple more rounds and start looking for a vps
So after 92 days of uptime on my vps, i started failing every single test. Granted, during that 92 days, I did an upgrade to the NIS software, so I donāt have an actual uptime for the NIS service - just the vps. Not sure if its related to the software or the vps provider, but I rebooted and will watch it to see if it behaves. Supernode Link
Failing for the chain part. What kind of check is that?
Will switch to the ubuntu machine today after work. When succesful; Iāll send a message to that NEM address with the changes I made.
Looks like NIS was not running.
Those warnings are normal, nothing to worry about.
Just saw a post on btt from jabo saying messages were sent out to nodes with payments to follow soon. Any more info on this. (I havnt checked my account for messages as i keep everything offline)
We are in a payout test phase now. Transactions are sent to nodes that are eligible for payout but it only contains a message and no xem yet. I am aiming for beginning of mai for the launch of node rewards.
Wait for my Ubuntu node
Almost ready.
I was almost ready; but then I couldnāt start the servant. This is what I did;
fatih87sk@37-97-134-5:~$ cd Desktop/servant
fatih87sk@37-97-134-5:~/Desktop/servant$ ./nix.startservant.sh
bash: ./nix.startservant.sh: No such file or directory
Ps. I only need to start Nis for becoming a supernode right? Ncc en Mon are not necessary?
And I sent a message to NAFUND-BUKIOS-TMD4BN-XL7ZFE-735QHN-7A3FBS-6CMY to change the node to the Ubuntu machine. Just need to start the Servant app.
EDIT: Luckily I work at an IT company so I brought my laptop at work.
A Unix manager fixed the rights of the startservant.sh and then I could start it.
The following nodes have been deactivated since they are failing almost all tests for a very long time:
- FindingNEM1.tk
- Hi Iām NEM-Supernode
- Ronel-Thinkpad
- TehSuperNode
- SuperNEM1
- trapp
- Xemies
- LongLifeNEM2
Please contact me if you want them to be activated again.
Hi.
I set up the NEM wallet through installer version.
Should I change it to the standalone version to be a supernode?
You only need NIS and the servant to run a supernode. I would recommend the standalone version.
I changed the ip & the name of my node by sending a message to NAFUND-BUKIOS-TMD4BN-XL7ZFE-735QHN-7A3FBS-6CMY.
But at the supernode website I can see that only the IP is changed. Want to change the name to Fatih87SK. Ip adress is: 37.97.164.53
Please reactive TehSuperNode. Iām currently trying to figure out why my savant isnāt working properly.
It needs to be two separate messages. But this time i changed it manually in the db.
both nis and servant are not working for a long time. Tell me when they are both running.
