As David Mansell’s recent post pointed out, we recognise that the recent response to the Japanese website and translations identified a more fundamental issue that needs to be resolved across all our websites, to ensure that we accurately reflect the make-up of the NEM ecosystem and provide the correct opportunity for our different audiences and stakeholders to engage in a way that suits them.
We are now in the process of creating a clear brief for this task, which we will share with the community before we create a new holistic approach to our websites globally and for Japan.
We will share progress for input and also involve local web and creative expertise on the development of all Japanese elements of the website as we move forward.
This will take time to get right and will mean that for Symbol in Japan we will not have a full website in time for Symbol launch.
To address this issue, we want to ask the community if we should;
- Leave the Japanese Symbol website down until it is properly resolved as part of the wider global brief.
- Address the specific translation issues identified now and put the Symbolplatform Japan site back, using the same structure and design.
- Put a simple holding page up for Symbolplatform Japan until the full review is complete.
The NEM Japan team will conduct a short survey to allow community input and opinion on the above preferences as we want to ensure the right approach.
