i am getting this error "NIS is not available"

Edit: well working after some time.


I am experiencing the same issue after a reboot of the machine. Run the "NEM Community Client" which is a shortcut created by the one-click installer on my desktop. After some time I get a query as to which browser to open (I have IE11, FireFox & Google Chrome installed on the machine). I select to keep using IE11 and NEM opens a new tab.

I then attempt to login in to my wallet and after supplying my password a few seconds pass before I get a pop-out error window stating NEM infrastructure server is not available.

Windows 8.1 with all updates (64bit)
Running as standard user (not local administrator)
Java 1.8 Update 11
NEM Client (latest [not sure how to get the version if client won't start])

I've attached the NIS log from C:\Users\KC\nem\nis\logs > nis-0

did you notice what happens if you wait a minute or two?? If I wait here ( w8.1 64 bit) before 2 minutes the message goes away and you can login normally.

I did the previous poster say that NIS took a bit of time to come up, however after leaving it for well over five minutes the message doesn't disappear and I can't login. Can anyone tell me how to run NIS interactively so I can see if it is erroring?

Thanks for the log file you shared. It looks like something corrupted your database:

Caused by: org.h2.jdbc.JdbcSQLException: File corrupted while reading record: "[31] stream data key:2 pos:11 remaining:0". Possible solution: use the recovery tool [90030-175]


Could you try deleting your data folder (nem/nis/data) and seeing if that helps?

Expanding for others. I deleted all files bar the one with .wlt extension (assumed this is my wallet) under NEM and NCC folders located under my user profile (WindowsKey+R then %userprofile%). Restarting NEM from the shortcut placed on my desktop has kicked things back into life.

Your log says that there already is/was an instance of the NIS server running:
"java.net.BindException: Address already in use: bind"

Although this situation should not be encountered at all, if it happens it is probably the best to kill all Java processes with the task manager and then start them again.

Tank you for answers so I delete data files in nem user directory and this fix the problem.Yesterday I try to fix the problem and uninstal application and try to instal again but was impossible so I save online java link on my desktop and now I start client from him so I think application have to  Instal and Uninstal more easy.

Hi, Not sure if it is there but could you add a "REQUEST NEM" button in the client ? It'll be a good option where you can ask for NEM from other accounts.

I have problem with sending coins - transaction still pending and no any confirmation - I open wallet 3 days ago - how long I have to waiting before I can send coins.
