Price speculation

Let's start the price speculation thread. This may probably be one of the most visited threads on the crypto forums, so I was surprised we don't have one.

How much do you think the value of one stake will be immediately after launch - 6 months after - one year after?

if it was 1/4 nxt it would be about 12,500

if speculation blew it to 1/2 nxt it would be 25,000

if it went to nxt price now it would be $50,000

Let's say people loved Nem to death and it went double NXT $100,000  ;D

Let's say it went to $1  :stuck_out_tongue:

This is why we gotta get better than NXT and blow everything out the water

6 months from now i predict one nem stake will be worth ~15btc @3.5k dollars which will be worth a grand total of 52.5k dollars.

here to dreaming

I think if we succeed, within 3 years we will reach parity with the dollar (1 NEM = 1 USD; $4 billion market cap). It depends on the community, though. If everyone supports, promotes, and uses NEM, it is definitely possible.

Emphasis in the "uses" part :).

I'd say that the value will be under 5k usd per stake untill the next november. At the beginning of 2015 the majority of crypto users will realize that crypto 1.0 is old and will move to 2.0 which will raise nem's price. How much depends on the state of our ecosystem. If we get it better than our competition nem will be #2 in marketcap in june 2015.

I think it a good guess to say that within 6 months NEM will be behind NXT in terms of coinmarketcap, close but still behind.
NXT now has a marketcap of roughly 50,000,000 USD (altough nxt price is pretty low now ) so if we assume 40,000,000 USD for NEN, that would be
10,000 USD per stake.
I expect nem price to be pretty stable after launch, since so many people invested heavily already…but i have been wrong so often xD

I am also waiting for that paradigm shift to happen, it could take a while tough, there are so many people who invested in sha256 asics or gpus and maybe didnt even hit ROI yet, their influence on the market is massive, and they are scared of 2.0 coins and the idea of not beeing able to mine in general, there is so much fear-mongering gonig on, if you read long enough on bitcointalk you get the idea that 2.0 is a scam and PoS isn't even secure, they dont know any better, and they dont want to to. But for PoS to strive PoW must die. But if we build a good ecosystem that will happen, just nor sure when, not even sure 2015 is our year.

We must offer something different and better than NXT though, because otherwise we'll always be seen as just a NXT clone. We need our own niche and it has to be focussed on friendliness ease of use etc. Because NXT is really complicated for newcomers. If nem can be more ergonomic then we can rule the 2.0

Sounds logical.

This is near what I would have posted. +1

The phrase 'keep it simple, stupid' could offer guidelines here :)

Crypto 3.0 will be more about UX/UI than technology. Unfortunately, NEM is there at all yet, as we have no mobile apps. Any crypto launching now should be mobile first if they want to reach mass adoption.

Don't know about mobile first but I agree that we absolutely need to support mobile payment.

Agree about mobile, but shouldn't the network be built first then build the mobile on top of it? maybe make a 'mobile division' to look at it while the main protocol is being built

Couldn't we hire somebody to start developing a mobile app asap?

We can't afford to hire people for everything. It'd be awesome if we could find some motivated people that would to it for NEM (i.e. stakes).

I'm hoping for 100.000 NXT for 1 stake after launch.

I'm not gonna sell any NEM in the short term. Am in for the long ride.

I'd be game. Havent got that much though but trying to get rid of some assets ;).

Am i badly derailed if i presume we could have the app launch done within 2 months from now if we hire somebody full time?

Anybody else game to hiring?

remember if the launch goes well and price keeps rising you could see the NXT guys jumping ship to NEM…a possibility?

not sure about that, when NEM launches, NXT will still be way ahead of us.
