Translators unite!

Hello,

Important information for all the translators. We need to make some changes to translation process.
As getting the changes get's more and more complicated.

Basically there will be two phases:

[li]Where developers can add/modify new strings to english.js in NCC (and only there)
[li]at the end of this phase translations will be copied from en to all the other languages[/li]
[li]Then there will always be ANN, that translations can be made.[/li]

    [/li]
[li]Where translators can adjust language files. End date will always be announced.[/li]

It's CRUCIAL, that translations are based on MOST RECENT version published (the one announced at the end of phase 1).

We won't be able to include translations that will not follow this protocol.

I hope that it's all clear, and that it sounds sane.
Those changes are a MUST, as each time when it comes to merging translations we waste enormous amounts of time.
And I think there might be some errors after last merges.

So let me announce Phase 2. It will last till Mon 23rd.
Post link to zipfile or github here when you're ready.

Hi. For the translators, I suggest use the notepad ++ and the diff compare plugin. Just get the latest translation on your language and the latest english file. Make things a lot easier like this

I have used freigeist tool and sent translation directly to Bloodyrookie. Last i put
new multisig words. Do i have to do it manually again?

NCC Translation Toll is not up to date - so I translate changes in github

This modifications was for 0.5.5 version and I translate them for this version but in NCC translation tool was missing some rows which was add in github so NCC translation tool is not up to data  - in english.js this rows are missing may be something wrong with automate update  from github .
You can see which is this rows here https://github.com/filchef/NemCommunityClient/commit/b2025e6bf893be8c4c705469014e8fb084a9b37b

If any of you is using total commander, it has VERY useful file comparer built-in.

Hello.

I gave access to the admin section of the translation tool to 3 developers months ago so that they
could update the source file there when they find it suitable and download the translated content from there.

@gimre, @BloodyRookie , @krysto:
if you find it difficult to update the source file in the tool please make a post here or in the translation tool thread
or send me a PM with the specification of the latest branch from which the files should be updated
and i will do it.
BTW: what would be the latest branch now?

Also having translation cycles as proposed above is better approach.
I think having a weekly cycle (update always once a week) will be good way to go.

Bye.

its here, on main branch: https://github.com/NewEconomyMovement/NemCommunityClient/tree/master/nem-client-api/src/main/webapp/scripts/languages

I have updated the source in the tool so now anyone
who wants can continue with translations.

@Parana: obrigado!  :wink:

Bye.

DONE I close ргevious github update and open new one https://github.com/filchef/NemCommunityClient/commit/6c7475e929a895b0c5155c8bdeb1c898eb111390

Latest should always be MASTER.

Actually I'm not sure how update button is supposed to work (I mean what it does internally),
I wouldn't like to destroy someone's work. Also not everyone was sending notifications,
when they were done with translation inside the tool :/ (or I could missed some which is possible too ofc.)

Hopefully this weekend I can make some time for this good cause!

I'm not familiar with github. I updated Lithuanian translation and exported it to my pc as export.zip file. How can I updated translation?

Im not so sure how you can put it there. One way to do it, is registering a user on github and:

      [li]go here: https://github.com/NewEconomyMovement/NemCommunityClient/tree/master/nem-client-api/src/main/webapp/scripts/languages[/li]

        [li]Click on your language;[/li]
[li]open on your computer the export.zip and open the "languageFile.js" on notepad ++ (you can get it here http://portableapps.com/apps/development/notepadpp_portable )[/li]

[li]Go to Laguage options on notepad ++ and set it as Javascript; [/li]
[li]Click edit on github to fork the file;[/li]

[li]Do a ctrl + a to select all the text and a ctrl + c to copy c from the notepad ++  "language.js" file,  and a ctrl + a to select all the text on the github file to translate and do a ctrl + v. By doing this, you should be able to propose a file change on github for all the languages, as you prefer[/li]

[li]Write up the file change to control the evolution of the file and click propose down the web page. [/li]

I suggest install the compare plugin to be able to easily find the modifications.

I hope it can help... a litte at least lol

              ;)

Parana, thank you for explanation. It is still too complicated for me

OK, I have already translated and updated lithuanian.js file inside export.zip

Maybe I can send this file by email to some dev and he will include translation properly? Please PM me any email I could send translation.

Ok I could do the updates then if you agree.
You will just have to send me a notification when the update is needed.
I can also deliver you all the translated files back in zip format periodically (in cycles) so that the translators
do not need to do this each separately.

As you also mention that the MASTER is the latest i would propose just to translate the master files
because the files in the other branches get modified often i do not see a point to do translation on something that
can be removed or changed in really short period of time (few days or few hours).

I'll available from Monday so we can work out the details on the translation workflow!
See ya ;)

I see a "REFORMAT" comment on the Hindi translation. I checked it again and it is fine, what should I do now?
