Hey patmast3r,

Can you check if the AE transfer went okay?  I think so, since I can see everything clearly now in the blockchain.

Please just check if you show up on https://chain.nem.ninja/stakes/registered.
You should be there after 15 minutes at most.

Thanks for the link, but unfortunatly I still can't see my address on the list. NXT Blockexplorer seems ok though.  ::)

/edit: you're there now.

Thank you!

what about linux users? you change the threads as often as you can, and now i cant get my stake? the webinterface doesnt work for me. i cant just install some java you require. altough, NXT works perfectly fine. can you please give me a solution? just decreasing the value of my stake is not fair. solution pronto please…  >:(

First off all that pentalty was dropped.
Secondly many people are running it fine.
And lastly, Why couldn't you install java ?

You know, if you're an angry NXTer fine but at least try to be reasonable.

Thanks for your fast answer!
That penalty was dropped? Very fine! So can i just wait, until there is a official working linux version available?
I cant just install java, because this is not common to install some programm via manual download. You do that with a package manager -> every software gets automatically updated. I tried to install it manually like described on java.com, but nothing happened. Just my already installed version was used.
Im angry because it seemed, that i invested some money and get nothing for it. Even if the business runs well. You know...
I bought the share via the explanation on bitcointalk. Im in the google spreadsheet list. Is there any other option to get my nem-coins? E.g. could you send me some NEM-stake on the NXT-AE or so?
Thank you...

There is an official working linux version. It's the current one.
There will be 2 month after launch to claim so you'll have quite a bit of time.
Maybe someone that is using linux can help you in greater deatail. So far usually only people on OS X have problems.

@ johnnyqwertz:
There is plenty of happy Linux users here. I'm one of them.

Oracle fully suppots Java on Linux and Sun did the same before.
I can't understand what your problem is.

Thank you all for your fast answers! I was quite difficult, because the guide from java.com did exactly nothing. I managed installing java8 with the guide from here: http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Java/Installation/Oracle_Java/Java_8 (i used the ppa method). I use the distribution Netrunner.
After that, i could start the client. After a while, it started downloading the blockchain. After a crash i started the client again and now it fully downloaded the blockchain. So my client is fine now  :).

Sorry about my complaints, but it cost me about five hours to get here. I know this is the beta version, but i would be really nice, to ease up things. There are several ways to do installations with linux. Some PPA or another thing, that automatically resolves dependencies would be very nice for the future.

Besides that, i really like the look of the client! Definitaly the best looking client of cryptocurrencies i have seen. Also very structered... The only thing, which i did not understand, was, what "harvesting" means. But i will find it out. But you could add some quick info to the client. Please let me know if critisism is welcome...

Soon i will do the work to get my stake. I have to digg the posts...

BTW: I thought this project was already dead! I informed myself about this project in the bitcointalk thread. About June or July, there were no updates posted. So i thougt this project was already dead. Today i saw, that the "NemStake"-Asset on the NXT-AE had a big trading volume. So i startet googling again and found out, that the project is already in process.

Also: Its a bit difficult to say, which thread or which information in the threads is up to date. You really could ease that up, if put a link in every thread, that goes to an official, up to date guide (JUST ONE), how to install the client and a guide for claiming the stake (if you bought one). This link should be cearly seeable at the top. After that, old information can follow as an archive. But it really costs nerves, to read a thread, that links to a thread, that links to a threads, that links to the thread before, and then you realise all you read is outdated. And then you make an angry post  8) (PEACE @ patmast3r)

lol

I know what you mean but actually the links in the outdated threads at BTT are on top of the original post  So that is not really a big deal to just click on it…

To have a real linux package would be really nice, but please remember that we are still BETA.

And as I understood: Your main problem was the installation of Java 8. That has nothing to do with NEM. After you got java 8 to work, it seems that it was very easy to get NEM running. So I don't see a real problem. But still, a package with auto resolving dependencies etc would be really nice. I think this will be done sometimes in the future, when the more important issues are done.

Maybe we'll look into way to package Java with the client. Right there are more pressing issues though.

Glad you got everything working.

You do show up on https://chain.nem.ninja/stakes/registered.
You gave us a different tx-id in the other post.
Forget nxtreporting. The only nxt-blockexplorer i would ever trust is this http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=1
