Cryptopia is not stealing our XEM [SOLVED]

I’m not accusing anyone of theft. Doing nothing carries its own risks. I am also a Poloniex user and I agree other exchanges have issues, but Cryptopia is off the charts.

I’ll keep you apprised of what happens in the DT claim / class action.

Are your funds locked up by Cryptopia? Do you want to put them under pressure to pay back your money?

Please look for explanation below. If you are sure that you want post it again please do.

@cypher
I spoke with Cryptopia support. They put wallet into maintenance immediately again and investigating. On the beginning next week it will be meeting with NEM technical trainer and they devs. Unfortunately it’s not possible do this in weekend because is 21 in friday in Australia.

They also saw your post and they told any lawsuit will cause delisting XEM. So please consider remove last post.

Thank you very much.

@cypher because you are inactive I edited your post.
If you are sure that you want post again please do - I will not edit it again. I only want ensure you that nobody is stealing here and I already spoke with Cryptopia dev.

We are investigating the situation, please do not accuse them yet.

Hi Pawel,
Don’t you think they should delist XEM, as they are unable to process it?

So… if they are “tryiing to do the things right” do you think that it should be a sort of cryptomonetary compensation for the problems right?.

@304b576854f as far as I know Binance was not hacked. Hacked was some popular traiding bot.

@Eric_Eveleens delisting is no solution. They should fix this. Maybe it’s a matter of configuration so is worth to try it.

I believe XRB is the cause of the Bitgrail hack. Time will prove it was either flawed code or terrible to implement for an exchange. Their wallets can only do 6 transactions a minute requiring synchronised wallets for an exchange. Theoretically a double spend can be done and it won’t be noticed till the exchange tries to transmit it to the network. Binance will regret listing it. https://www.reddit.com/r/RaiBlocks/comments/7nd96v/why_raiblocks_is_not_secure/

If an attacker succeeds to put himself between an exchange and the RaiBlocks network they can just filter the double spending payment packets, and the exchange will never know that he is receiving a double spending. The Raiblocks network will discard that payment while the exchange will accept it.

This can be easily achieved by a DNS hack . Or by controlling a number of nodes and ddossing the others.

I’m surprised you haven’t listed the NEM foundation as one of the respondents in your DT claim. It is quite possible that faulty wallet code is the cause. Maybe that is why NEM is so quiet about it. Do you realise that coins pay exchanges to be listed there ?

Binance wasn’t hacked. Users were phished and a botnet was used to use the funds from the phished accounts “buy” overpriced crypto from the scammers. Binance is one of the most advanced exchanges.

That’s right! “Hacked” is not the right term, but it was an important security issue and they handled it very well with their tech. Also, weeks ago they had issues with their servers too and decided to compensate customers with a discount in fees. I agree Binance is one of the most advanced exchanges, plus, they really care for their customers. Their public relationship is very well executed. That’s what I’m talking about.

The fact that crypto is not full regulated yet doesn’t means that is a no man’s land. Some agents in this business will take this as a breach to treat customers just the way they wants. That’s what’s happening here.

Please without speculation where is problem. A lot exchanges run XEM without such technical problems. These problems didn’t start today. It was already similar breakdown 2-3 months ago in Cryptopia XEM wallet.

Last time Cryptopia returns all coins and answered all tickets so please don’t spread also FUD about stealing (this is not note to @mdccxxii of course) .
This is technical issue and I hope it will be fixed as soon as possible.

Hello,

I have purchased some XEM from Cryptopia last night. I’ve checked my Nano Wallet. It’s all good.
But the Balance still at 0. The amount despite the confirmation on Cryptopia didn’t arrive.
Will i ever receive the XEM or it’s all gone ?

Yeah - Binance is smooth. I like a lot of the features there too. The phishing and attack method used is concerning though. It shows how cunning they are and well planned and executed the attacks are.

Yes, Binance has a “customer first” policy. Within 24 hrs of that bot phishing fiasco, they reversed all ill trades and credited customers accts who were affected.
XEM wallet on Bittrex has been off-line for maintenance since last night and so is Cryptopia’s… hopefully we see some progress now.

My XEM Balance still empty since last night purchase from Cryptopia.
It’s still in Circulation right? It’s not vanished?
And XEM is a good coin to invest in? It seems Exchanges have issues with it.

Cyptopia has a lot of shitcoins listed with poor cloned code . A lot of the times it is bad wallet code like with the SIGT issues.

The crypto is there. It is just not credited to your balance. Their wallet has been out of action for the last 5 days or so. I’ve seen the wallet frozen at least three times and it had no connections before they put it into maintenance.

Thanks for reply. OK I’ll wait. Why they have that issue with XEM ?
